Akhal-Teke Horses are the national emblem for Turkmenistan. They have a reputation for endurance, intelligence and speed. They are sometimes known as “Golden Horses” because of their distinctive metallic sheen making the palomino and buckskin horses look gold in the sunlight. They have adapted to severe climates throughout their history and as a result are thought to be one of the oldest horse breeds.They are naturally athletic and are used as a sport horse and show jumper.
