Friesian Horses are graceful and able to maneuver easily for their size. They are known for their trot, which is high stepping and brisk. During the middle ages, Friesians were in as high demand as war horses. The breed has almost become extinct a few times, but it is now growing in popularity and in numbers. It is growing in popularity as a ‘dressage’ horse, a competitive equestrian sport where horses have to perform a series of movements from memory.
