DESCRIPTION

The American alligator went from being endangered to fully recovered and thriving. They are descendants of dinosaurs from over 65 million years ago; the species is over 150 million years old. They are great swimmers, but not as agile out of the water. They live only in fresh water (lakes, marshes, rivers and swamps). If they are hungry, they will eat almost anything!
