They are nocturnal mammals and feed mostly at night. During the day, they usually take cover in the shade. They will often roll around in the mud to coat their skin, the mud acts as bug repellent and a sunblock. Black rhinos are browsers and get most of their sustenance from trees and bushes. Their huge size and thick skin deters them from most natural predators. They are very aggressive and fight mostly by charging into their threats. They have sharp hearing and a keen sense of smell. Rhinos have two horns, the first is longer and more prominent then the other.
